Thanks to a friend who covered for my female human at work, we were able to get on the road by 12:30 Thursday and beat the bad weather. We pulled off for the evening at Berea KY. The roads were fine when we got off, but it started to sleet while we were setting up the camper. We found out that they closed I-75 due to icy roads and several accidents about a half hour later. By the time we got up in the morning the icy mix had gone and we were on our way under sunny skies. There were some huge birds at a camper a few down from us...sure would have liked to gotten my teeth into them---see the picture to the left.
We got here (Americus GA) last night and are staying in a campground with a golf course. The lady said my humans couldn't use the restrooms because the septic tank was full from all the rain! Showers were ok, so I didn't have to take my litter box out of the shower in the camper. The humans got up early this morning and left me to go to Andersonville Prison and the National Cemetery. They also went to Plains GA to check out President Carter's boyhood home.
I think we are leaving for Florida tomorrow, but Mr Jimmy (as President Carter is called here) is teaching Sunday School in Plains tomorrow and they are thinking about going. I guess that one has to get there by 8am to be checked out by the secret service and sunday school doesn't start until 10am. If you want to have your picture taken with him, you have to wait until after church ends at noon.
Keep you posted....Gracie

- I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
