Calm Day at the ocean
The humans started out yesterday to go to the Grant Seafood Festival, something that they do every year about this time. Once they got there and discovered that there was an hour wait to get on the shuttle bus to take them to the festival from the parking lot, they decided that it probably wasn't that important that they go. (They have gone for the last four years and it was really cold and windy) So they ended up at Sebastian Inlet eating fish tacos and margaritas at Captain Hiram's. They had mahi-mahi and shrimp and didn't bring me any! :(

Last Friday they went down to the ocean near Patrick Air Force base to watch the launch of a privately built space capsule that was going to the International Space Station.

Oops---someone dropped some stale bread!
I think I'm getting the short end of this vacation---they go out to eat and all I get to do is smell the food on them when they get back. Almost every Tuesday they go to Cici's with a group from the park. Then every other Thursday Nancy goes to Ladies Day Out. A group of women from the campground go out for lunch and then shopping afterwards. One week it was Carrabas and last week 22 women went to Dos Amigos and ate Tex-Mex. Next time they are going to Squid Lips and taking along the husbands.
Usually every Tuesday there is coffee and donuts at the corn crib (the only shelter/gathering place in the campground), but tomorrow morning the is going to be a breakfast. Since the corn crib is only about 50' from the back of the camper and Ron has volunteered to cook pancakes for the group, I bet I will get left-overs. That is one of the bonuses of being on the inside of A loop here----we sure know what is going on at the corn crib. Last Saturday night there was a dance---with DJ and decorations.

Sewing at the campground
I think I mentioned that once a week Nancy and a group of women get together and sew at the corn-crib. Nancy and her friend Deen found 22 more pillowcases at a local Thrift shop---so they have material to make more dresses this week.
Nancy sure likes her new tablet that she got for her birthday and has been enjoying downloading books from the library. She tries to get books that I like too. Things like the Joe Grey series by Shirley Rousseau Murphy. He is a talking cat that solves mysteries. Or the Mrs. Murphy mystery series by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown that features two cats, Mrs. Murphy and Pewter and a corgi, Tee Tucker, who solve mysteries. She found me a book that is really neat: "I could Pee on This" by Francesco Marciuliano. I couldn't find a website for the book, but here is one with a little more info. It is poetry written by a cat! Here's one I enjoyed:
MY TAIL
If my tail is curved then I am at ease
If it is tucked then do what you please
If it twitches then get out of my sight
If it is to one side then I'm free for the night
If it is fluffed then I simply can't deal
If it swishes then it's about to get real
If it is erect then for you I give thinks
If it is gone then I'm probably Manx
If it grabs food then you're petting a monkey
You should probably walk away right now.
