Final Installment---Winter Trip

Brewery in Cincinnati
OK, I realize it is July and I never finished the updates about our winter trip.  I was so mad that they didn't bring me any fish from the aquarium that I decided to go on strike.  Well, it looks like we are taking off again---so I figured that I better tell you all about the end of our winter trip.

The Aquarium at Chattanooga Tennesee was really neat.  There were lots of  good displays and many different kinds of aquatic creatures to see.  The pictures at the website are probably better than any Nancy took, but she still took lots!  The otters were fun to watch and the jelly fish were mesmerizing as they floated up and down in their tanks.  Nancy liked the otters the best, but the penguins were a close second.  Ron's favorites were the seahorses.  When they were watching one of the employees doing a demonstration in one of the big tanks, a turtle that had never come close to humans, came right up and checked him out.  The diver was really surprised.

Our next stop was Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park.  We spent three days there.  It is a pretty park and we had a nice full- hook up site.  One of the more unusual features of the park is the Library of Mountain Millstones, which is a large collection of many different kinds of millstones.  There was also a mountain life museum, which wasn't open when we were there.  It honors the original settlers to Kentucky.

Next t we were off to Cincinnati Ohio to attend a party for our nephew's college graduation.  We stayed north of town at Winton Woods.  I stayed at the campground while the humans checked out the area.  They went to a butterfly house.  I think that would have been fun---chasing butterflies.  Tjen they were off to the party at the Rhinegeist brewery.  It is a brewery built within the skeleton of the old Moerlein bottling plant located in the Over-the-Rhine historical district neat downtown. The tasting room is a giant indoor adult playground with cornhole, ping pong and more. They don't serve food, but you are allowed to bring it in or order a pizza from a nearby place.

The next day we headed home.  It's good to be back, but I miss all the birds and bugs I see when we are camping.  I also miss all our friends that stop by to see us and give me treats.  I guess I even miss Buddy, a dog that comes with his owners to see us.  I think we are taking off again soon---stayed tuned.

About Me

My photo
I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
