The Adventure Continues

FDR's favorite picnic spot.  Fireplace was built for him.
The last week at Wickham was fun because our neighbors from home came to a condo on the beach near us.  All the humans spent a lot of time together, but the best thing is that they brought a bag on new treats.  I wish Ron would give me those all of the time.

Well, I thought when we left Wickham Park we were headed home.  Boy, was I wrong!  Right now we are in Pine Mountain, Georgia at the Roosevelt State Park, but we have taken our good old time getting here.

Our first stop was Silver Springs FL and the Wilderness RV Park.  We usually stop here at least once a season.  We weren't there a day and the humans got a phone call from Bob and Gwen (friends from Wickham who were on their way back to Indiana) wondering exactly where we were.  They said they were coming our way and would see us soon!  What a nice surprise.  They decided to rent a pontoon the next day and take it up river to Silver Springs.  They had a great day and even saw a monkey!

The four humans decided to travel together for a couple more days and ended up going to Lake Seminole, a COE park on the AL/GA/FL boarder. (They played cards or Sequence every night they were together.  I think they really just wanted to play more games together.) We had a beautiful site overlooking the lake and the dam.  I got to see lots of wildlife and even an alligator swimming in the water.  They had a campfire the last night and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows.  Sadly, they had to part company and we headed next to Cotton Hill campground, a COE campground on Walter F. George Lake, still on the Chattahoochee River, but further North.  After two days there, we came here to the Franklin Roosevelt State Park.

We have a nice pull through site on a quiet loop.  Yesterday the humans drove over to Warm Springs and toured the Little White House, FDR’s cottage that he built to take advantage of the warm healing springs in the area in an attempt to help his disabilities from contracting polio. They also saw the warm springs, the rehabilitation hospital, and the National Fish Hatchery and aquarium.  When they got home we all started to watch a movie and the electricity went out.  (Tree fell and took out the lines)  So they played cards and I took a nap.

One of the many lakes at Callaway Gardens
Today they left me again and went to Callaway Gardens.  It is a huge garden complex with over five miles of scenic driving trails and so many pretty areas to see that it is hard to describe.  They also went to see a free flight raptor show.  I think I would like to see the birds, but Nancy said that all I would be was lunch for them.

I’m not sure where we are going tomorrow, but I do know it will be North of here and South of home.

About Me

My photo
I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
