Spring Adventure (Installment 2)

Lake Erie
We are home again, but I just had to tell you where the humans took me next.  I couldn't believe it when I found out....We went to (are you ready for this...............) The "Greatest Week In American Birding".  Yep, my humans took a cat to a bird festival!  According to the people Ron talked to, about 75,000 people from all over the USA and several foreign countries were expected to come look at some of the 300 species of birds in the area.  We camped at Maumee Bay State Park and then the humans went to Magee Marsh and the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge to see the birds.  Since they are not birders, all they could tell me is that they saw a blue one, a black one with orange wings and a red one.  The did see a very strange tundra swan.  It had an orange neck and head.  Come to find out the feathers are stained from the minerals in the march.  They couldn't get a picture of it, but here is a good one at this website.  I'm not exactly sure why they drove around to see birds---there were plenty at the campsite and they were really noisey.  I don't think I've ever heard so many birds in one place before.

Our campsite was huge and it overlooked a little pond.

About Me

My photo
I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
