Crackers, Flowers and Strawberry Pie

It has been a cool stay here in Davenport, but Ron & Nancy got lots of sightseeing done. They have taken a little trip around the area almost every day. One day they went to Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando. (http://www.leugardens.org/) 50 acres of gardens and an historical home to tour. It is an American Horticultural Society reciprocal garden, so they got in free because they belong to Hidden Lake Gardens in the Irish Hills. Another day they toured the Osceloa County Historical Society and Pioneer Museum where they saw a Cracker house, Cracker cow camp and a nice little museum. There they learned the story of Hamilton Disston, a man credited for saving the land in Florida from going into receivership. Ron celebrated his 64th birthday on Friday and I got to help him eat the whipped cream on his birthday pie! Saturday they met their friends Mike and Kathy for lunch in Lake Wales.

About Me

My photo
I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
