It has been a busy week. I finally got a picture of the otters here in the park to show you. Another camper here, Ruth, took the picture and gave it to me. The weather has warmed up and it is almost back to normal temps. Last week our neighbor from the lake came to visit for a few days and we also met a really neat lady from California, who is traveling across the country in a motorhome. Bobbi and Harry are still here too. They all went to the Strawberry festival last week-end here at Wickham Park. There were craft booths and a car show (which Ron and Harry liked) and strawberry shortcake. Ron and Nancy have gone out to eat several times and have also cooked several yummy meals here (we had steak!!!!). Yesterday was a beach day. It was cool---but better than the past few weeks. Today R&N, B&H all went on a field trip to the zoo and then on to the Viera wetlands. I hear there were lots of nesting birds at the wetlands, but I didn’t get to go along----(darn! baby birds---yum, yum!). The wetlands are really the holding ponds for the sewage treatment plant---but still really something with all the different types of nesting birds and even several alligators. They went to see the manatees a couple times, too. The manatees are in a canal in a subdivision near Patrick Air Force Base. Strange place to see them----got to wonder why they hang out there. Sorry- no picture of them, water is just too murky.
