Jekyll is really pretty. We have squirells right outside our camper door and there are huge live oaks all over the place. Lots of bushes are in bloom. The island was once used as a hunting retreat by millionaires in the early part of the century. They
would park their yachts in the harbor and then come ashore and stay in the lodge or their cottages. Lots of famous people came---Rockfellers, Pulitzer and more. The lodge is now used as a hotel (see picture) and the outbuildings for the staff as really cute shops. The ocean is very calm and the intercostal waterway is much more narrow than at Melbourne.

Heading North
We are on our way North. They made me go on another ferry ride
Monday! We took the Mayport ferry in Jacksonville FL. I've been on it before--and I still didn't like it one bit. We spent the night at Hannah Park in Jacksonville and then got on the road this morning and drove to Jekyll Island GA. Hannah was nice--pretty campsites and there was lots of noisy wildlife. We had the window open most of the night and I decided it was best if I slept on N's head-----just to protect her.

About Me

- I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
