Canaveral National Seashore
It looks like we may be moving on soon.  The humans have been making phone calls to make reservations and the places they are calling are all North of here.  This winter has gone fast, and I haven’t had much to report.  We’ve had two more Space X rockets go off since the one in December.  The January one went off right on time.  The February one wasn’t so good…R&N went to the beach with their friends to watch it go off five times before it finally went.   The last time a whole group went early and took a picnic supper.  Problem was that it was so cold and windy they couldn’t stay on the beach.  Luckily there were picnic tables in a protected area by the parking lot and everyone had a good time eating and waiting for the launch.

Nancy and her lady friends have gone out to eat every other Thursday all winter.  The last time (last Thursday) they took the guys along and they all (about 50 people) went to Squid Lips on the Indian River.

R&N went on an adventure to Viera Wetlands and then over to the Canaveral National Seashore at Titusville to look for alligators.  They really didn't see a lot of alligators, but there were lots of other neat things like white pelicans and all sorts of ducks.

Besides the Pajama Dance I mentioned before, there was a Sweetheart dance in February (which had to be postponed because it was too cold) with root beer floats before the dancing and a final bon voyage dance with make our own sundaes last week.  They were fun to watch out the window of the camper.  Ron played the music for all the dances.    I just wish someone would have brought me some ice cream!

Other times that I could see the food and nobody brought me any…. sausage and gravy breakfast (which was moved to supper time because of the weather) and another pancake breakfast last week.  There was also a chili cook-off.  I’m not a big fan of chili, but the deserts looked good.

The park (not the campground) has had lots of events all winter.   Disk golf tournaments, horse events, model sailboat races, a renaissance fair, barn finds and lure courses for dogs, and several 5K runs.  One of the runs was a flavor run---everyone wore white and as the ran by people threw something that looked like Kool-Aid at them.  I sure would have liked to lick them!

March Launch
The whole group was supposed to go to the beach together yesterday, but it was too cold and windy.  It has been rescheduled for tomorrow, but the humans had already made other plans, so they aren't going.  They are busy spending time with some of the friends that they promised to go out to lunch with at the beginning of the winter but never got around to doing it and going to restaurants that they wanted to try.  Good news: they have a good time and bring me great kitty-bags.

So it looks like tonight is dinner at Meg O'Malleys, cards and then a rocket launch at 11pm.  This time, the rocket is taking  4 tons of supplies to the space station.

About Me

My photo
I am a Swantonian Bushcat. (I was born under a bush in Swanton Ohio),but my people think that I have a lot of Chartreaux in my bloodline because I pray for what I want, am very quiet, lay on my back a lot, and am shaped much like a potato on toothpicks.
